Responsibilities
Support, enhance, and modernize a mission-critical enterprise VB.NET application while ensuring stability, reliability, and high availability in a production environment
Lead efforts to modernize deployment and testing practices for a long-standing VB.NET and Oracle transaction processing system, transitioning manual processes toward automated and repeatable workflows without disrupting business operations
Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications using tools such as Electric Flow or CloudBees, including database deployment pipelines for Oracle objects such as DDL, stored procedures, and packages. Implement deployment validation, smoke testing, and release checks to improve consistency, confidence, and quality of production releases
Develop and expand automated unit test coverage for existing business logic using industry-standard testing frameworks
Refactor legacy code to improve testability, maintainability, and performance, introducing dependency injection and modern coding practices where appropriate
Investigate and resolve production issues, deliver timely bug fixes and enhancements, and modify Oracle queries, stored procedures, and file parsers to support evolving business and integration requirements
Create and maintain clear technical documentation including deployment runbooks, testing strategies, and modernization decisions to support operational teams and long-term maintainability
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to continuously improve system reliability, automation, and delivery efficiency in a Windows-based enterprise environment
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience with VB.NET and ASP.NET Web Forms using .NET Framework 4.7.2
Proven experience working with Oracle databases, including PL/SQL, stored procedures, and packages
Experience refactoring and enhancing large, long-lived legacy codebases
Hands-on exposure to CI/CD tools such as Electric Flow or CloudBees
Experience implementing unit tests using frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest, along with mocking libraries
Solid experience working in Windows Server environments, including IIS administration and PowerShell scripting
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently resolve production issues while maintaining system stability
Preferred
Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications with limited existing automation
Familiarity with automated database deployments and release validation practices
Strong documentation skills and experience defining testing standards and best practices
Ability to work effectively in environments supporting high-availability, business-critical systems
Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer or Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate
