Electrical Engineer
Helion is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support power distribution, machine integration, and electrical safety in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on plant power, equipment implementation, and safety systems, requiring deep experience with industrial power systems and equipment integration.
Responsibilities
Support and maintain plant electrical power distribution systems, including 480V systems, transformers, and machine connections
Review machine electrical designs and identify safety systems, interlocks, and certified safety architectures (e.g., TÜV, CECON)
Specify electrical requirements for new equipment, including power, protection, grounding, and safety considerations
Lead electrical aspects of equipment installation, commissioning, and startup
Partner with electricians, maintenance, and vendors to ensure safe, code-compliant implementations
Identify and mitigate electrical safety risks during equipment integration and plant modifications
Review and approve electrical drawings and documentation prior to installation
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong understanding of industrial power distribution and electrical safety systems
Experience integrating new equipment into existing plant infrastructure
Ability to identify and apply relevant electrical codes and safety standards
Comfortable working in the field and collaborating with trades and operations teams
Preferred
Experience in food, heavy industrial, or high-uptime manufacturing environments
Familiarity with arc flash considerations and electrical risk mitigation
Experience working directly with OEMs and equipment suppliers
