Responsibilities
Developing new system designs, writing system specifications, and supporting modeling development
Developing system-level test procedures and test scripts, executing these tests, analyzing results, and supporting modeling testing efforts as needed
Assisting with flight tests and analyzing results
Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal functional groups (software engineering, hardware engineering, project lead, program management, customer support, etc.)
Help maintain and develop engineering processes
Assistance in the design, test, and maintenance of all products
Coordinates cross-process team issues both within and between teams
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
Must have 4 or more years of directly related professional experience, preferably in the avionics industry
Experience must include writing system requirements, system validation procedures, system test development, and system test execution
Knowledge of ARP-4754A and DO-178 processes
Prefer experience with surveillance products (TCAS/TAWS/Transponders/ADS-B In and Out and associated applications)
Preferred
Good interpersonal skills and can work with multiple teams, and work directly with customers
Demonstrates ability to take initiative to eliminate barriers and uses resources to ensure desired results
Ability to lead teams through conflict, clarify objectives, and develop consensus and buy-in as required
Ability to see the big picture and advocate integration of systems within the work group
Fosters an environment that promotes creativity and innovation
Self-motivated with good communication skills
Able to work without appreciable management oversight and direction
Automation
Familiarity with Avionics technologies such as Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems, Transponders, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast Systems, and Terrain Awareness Avoidance Systems
