Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist to join their Generate AI Visual Media team. The role involves building scalable computer vision and machine learning models to enhance customer interactions with product imagery and videos, transforming the shopping experience into a personalized journey.

Responsibilities
Explore, collect, and process data
Frame and transform ambiguous business challenges into science hypotheses. Design and implement offline and online experiments to evaluate them
Develop prototypes to test new concepts/proposals for models and algorithms
Design and build automated, scalable pipelines to train and deploy ML models
Qualification
Required
PhD, or Master's degree and 5+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
Preferred
Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly with respect to computer vision algorithms
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow and PyTorch
Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices
Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences
