Insurance Account Manager, Personal Lines - Lititz, PA

Responsibilities
Pre-qualifies and analyzes prospects’ personal lines coverage needs. Recommends coverage and prepares rating quotes and proposals to sell new accounts
Completes applications for insurance and has insured sign them. Submits to eligible and appropriate carriers and follows up to ensure timely receipt of policies or quotations
Assists clients with making coverage changes and completes service requests for clients
Verifies accuracy and coverage adequacy of policies. Requests changes to correct errors and follows up with carriers and clients on changes as needed
Surveys insureds’ loss exposures and recommends coverage at every service opportunity
Continues on-going education to maintain knowledge of insurance coverages and exposures in available markets
Maintains current knowledge of underwriting guidelines, rating systems and processing requirements
Keeps current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins
Actively solicits increases in coverage or rounding out accounts in order to ensure adequate coverage
Recommends excess and surplus coverage, as needed to meet client insurance needs. Educates clients as to coverage limitation and documents in the system
Actively seeks referrals from current client base; follows up to generate new business using prospect database and system
Actively refers clients to Employee Benefits and Commercial Lines department for solicitation of new business
At each service contact, reviews current client coverages and recommends changes in coverage and in markets, as needed to ensure high quality coverage
Informs clients of policy changes, exclusions of coverage and insurance coverage needs. Explains coverage and exclusions to clients. Uses every service contract as opportunity to review and market appropriate coverage
Processes renewals and remarkets, as needed
Verifies coverage status processes, as appropriate
Generates documents and produces correspondence to satisfy client service requests
Prepares summaries of insurance
Assists clients in submitting first reports of claims. Facilitates prompt response from company staff and follow up on claims status to keep insureds informed and to work toward settlement of claims
Processes incoming mail requests and responds promptly and appropriately
Schedules agency/client inspections and pictures as needed
Verifies accuracy of all direct bill cancellation notices and take appropriate action
Maintains orderly electronic files and information, following agency standards
Ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Maintains confidentiality of all information related to clients, customers, employees, carriers, or as appropriate, other information
Ensures documents are accurate and complete, minimizing the risk of errors or omissions that could lead to disputes or financial loss
Qualification
Required
A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field strongly preferred
A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' experience in a related position normally required
Valid Insurance License for assigned state required (or must be obtained within 60 days of start date)
Thorough knowledge of agency operations, including claims handling, procedures, carrier rating, agency management systems and applicable insurance laws/codes
Knowledge of all lines of insurance with an emphasis on personal lines of insurance
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with agency management systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less
Visual, auditory and speaking skills
Valid driver's license is required
Preferred
Completion of CISR or CIC designation preferred
Experience using Applied Epic or similar client relationship management system strongly preferred
