Walgreens is a Fortune 50 company with a long history of serving communities, and they are seeking a detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal to support their legal team. This role involves managing trademark prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement activities for a global brand portfolio.

Responsibilities
Conduct trademark clearance searches using Corsearch and other tools to assess availability and risk
Prepare search reports and summarize findings for attorney review
Assist with filing and maintenance of U.S. and international trademark applications
Monitor deadlines and maintain accurate records
Prepare and file routine documents with the USPTO
Prepare trademark maintenance filings (e.g., Declarations of Use, Renewals) including collecting and organizing specimens of use to support filings
Coordinate with internal teams to obtain acceptable specimens and verify compliance with USPTO requirements
Communicate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders regarding trademark matters
Draft and send routine correspondence related to filings and renewals
Organize and maintain trademark files and documentation
Assist with invoice processing and budget tracking for trademark-related expenses
Responsible for organizing and managing all aspects of legal matters to ensure efficient and effective matter handling
Researches legal issues and relevant topics that range in complexity and relate to Walgreens business operations
Drafts legal documents under managing paralegal or attorney supervision
Organizes and maintains department databases and files on a variety of legal subjects
Works directly with managing paralegal or attorney to analyze legal issues, identify applicable laws and gather pertinent facts, and resolve legal questions
If applicable, assists with litigation support, responding to discovery requests, document collection, responding to subpoenas, and/or contract support and management
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or higher with a paralegal certificate OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of legal experience (assisting legal document preparation, routine legal research, and data compilation in litigation, real estate, contracting)
Experience drafting legal documents
Experience researching complex legal issues
Experience using legal research tools, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw
Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets)
Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions)
Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show)
Willing to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred
Interest in intellectual property law and brand protection
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Familiarity with Corsearch or similar trademark search platforms preferred
Undergraduate degree
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-certified paralegal program
Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives)
Experience in a retail environment and/or healthcare setting
