Responsibilities
Lead Discovery Phase activities by:
Preparing questionnaires
Collaborating with client insurance teams
Identifying key insurance use cases, challenges, and data requirements
Design end-to-end Modern Data Platform architectures for Insurance, covering:
Data ingestion from core insurance systems
Secure and scalable data storage
Analytics, BI, and reporting layers
Ensure solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, scalability, security, and reliability
Collaborate with stakeholders to validate solution design against insurance business needs
Plan and deliver POCs and end-to-end demos for Insurance analytics use cases during sprint and release cycles
Create and maintain solution delivery artifacts, including:
Architecture templates
Standards and guidelines
Best practices and reference architectures
Provide Architecture Training and Knowledge Transfer (KT) to delivery teams
Mentor and guide team members to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables
Oversee development and configuration of the data platform to ensure adherence to architectural standards
Conduct architecture reviews, platform health checks, and performance optimizations
Ensure thorough testing for:
Data accuracy and integrity
Platform performance
Security and compliance
Define and support deployment strategies, including UAT, production rollout, and rollback plans
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on experience designing Modern Data Platforms including: Data Ingestion & Pipelines, Data Lakes / Lakehouse / Data Warehouses, Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics
Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric components including: Fabric OneLake, Fabric Pipelines, Fabric Notebooks
Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, dbt, and other Azure data services
Proven experience in insurance analytics use case analysis, source system analysis, and data quality assessment
Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms, high-volume datasets, and analytical models
Strong understanding of Data Management principles: Data Governance, Data Cataloging & Metadata Management, Data Security & Privacy, Master Data Management (MDM)
Familiarity with Modern Data Platform principles: DataOps & CI/CD, Performance Optimization, Reliability, Scalability, and Security
Strong knowledge of data architecture styles and design patterns
Experience leading Discovery & Design workshops with Insurance business and IT stakeholders
Experience collaborating with onshore and offshore delivery teams
Hands-on experience with Agile delivery models and Azure DevOps
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Exposure to Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance
Experience with Profisee or other MDM tools
Hands-on experience with PySpark and SparkSQL
Experience with Power BI for Insurance analytics and dashboards
Functional understanding of Insurance data domains, including: Policy, Endorsements & Rating, Claims & Loss Management, Underwriting & Risk, Billing & Payments, Reinsurance & Actuarial Data
