Compensation Analyst

Responsibilities

Processes requests submitted for Compensation and Classification Review ( CCR ) which consists of analyzing requests for new positions, reclassifications, promotions, new hires and other compensation-related requests; performs salary offer analyses, generates CCR approval letters and emails
Updates and maintains job description folder and CCR files; creates new job codes and updates existing job codes in the HRIS system; updates various Compensation databases (e.g. CCR master list) Gathers data related to client requests
Research compensation issues and performs analysis to provide recommendations and/or resolutions to Compensation related matters
Performs market pricing and analysis of external/internal salary data
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
A minimum of six (6) months of work experience in compensation, data analysis, accounting, payroll, forecasting/modeling or related work experience
Or five (5) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Excel (pivot tables and V-lookup), Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Familiarity with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Excellent organization and time management skills to manage competing priorities
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; proficient research skills to identify issues, analyze situations, and contribute to successful outcome
Ability to work independently and resourcefully against deadlines and exercise a high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality to accomplish job functions
This position may have access to critical infrastructure as defined by Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code
To be hired for and continue to be employed in this position you must maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure as set forth in Texas Executive Order GA-48
By assuming this position, and if you have access to critical infrastructure, you authorize the University to conduct routine background checks

Preferred
