Responsibilities
Configure, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL environments, ensuring stability, high availability and security
Support the migration of enterprise databases from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, data extraction, and application integration
Analyze and rewrite stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views to ensure compatibility with PostgreSQL internals
Performance Tuning: Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks using execution plans, indexing strategies, and parameter tuning
Security & Compliance: Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and auditing to maintain secure, compliant environments
Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, backups, and maintenance using tools like Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Good understanding of both SQL Server and PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL) internals
Migration Tools: Experience with conversion tools such as AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), etc
Ability to automate deployments and health checks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with administering databases in cloud environments like AWS RDS or Azure

Required
10+ years of overall experience and in production database operations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective work across cross-functional teams
