Director of Communications & Brand Strategy
Downtown Frederick Partnership is seeking a Director of Communications & Brand Strategy to shape and manage its public image. The role involves overseeing brand strategy, media relations, and marketing campaigns, while managing digital platforms and ensuring consistent messaging to strengthen the organization's presence.

Responsibilities
Leads organization-wide communications, PR, and storytelling
Ensures brand consistency
Oversees communications to residents, businesses, media, and visitors
Manages digital platforms including social media and website, newsletters, press outreach
Develops and implements a year-round communications calendar and print materials
Works closely with all Partnership staff to achieve strategic goals and deliver high-quality results
Builds strong relationships with the media, business owners, city officials, and nonprofit partners
Supervises part-time communications contractors
Performs other duties as needed to maintain a robust marketing presence for the Partnership within the community
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
5+ years experience in communications or marketing, ideally in the nonprofit sector
Strong writing skills and social media expertise
Experience with brand development and public relations
Experience managing contractors or freelancers
Budget management skills
Proficiency in graphic design, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency in WordPress or a similar platform
Preferred
Main Street experience is a plus
Mailchimp experience is a plus
