Atlas Connections is supporting a growing consulting team delivering electrical design for technically complex, regulated facilities. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead design efforts, coordinate across disciplines, and oversee projects from early design to construction support.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design deliverables for regulated facility projects, including drawing packages and specifications

Design power distribution systems supporting critical operations and equipment

Develop lighting and life safety designs, including emergency power considerations

Perform load calculations and coordinate system studies (short circuit, arc flash, coordination)

Produce narratives and design documentation for client and stakeholder reviews

Coordinate with mechanical, process, controls/automation, and architectural/structural teams

Support field investigations, troubleshooting, and facility assessments as needed

Review submittals, support equipment selection, and coordinate with vendors/contractors

Mentor junior engineers/designers and contribute to project execution (schedule, budget awareness, stakeholder communication)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

8–12+ years of building electrical design experience in regulated or mission-critical environments (life sciences experience strongly preferred, but not required)

Proficiency with common design platforms (e.g., Revit and/or AutoCAD)

Familiarity with electrical modeling/analysis software (any major toolset)

Strong understanding of applicable electrical and life safety codes/standards

Experience with UPS and emergency/standby power systems

Strong technical writing and documentation skills; detail-oriented

Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines in a consulting setting
