Responsibilities
Design and implement automated ELT mechanisms, data modeling, development, and data handling for new data sources
Document data resources and ensure data security and appropriate access controls
Collaborate with the Data Team to maintain and optimize the necessary data and analysis environments for both internal teams and customer-facing products
Recommend technology and process improvements to enhance data workflows
Develop and implement new data engineering tools and processes to improve efficiency
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
At least 6-8 years of experience in data engineering, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in a Data Engineer role
Strong experience working with healthcare data
Proven ability to implement solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Expertise in writing SQL packages for loading and transforming datasets
Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing ETL data-loading jobs
Proficiency with ETL orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Astronomer, Dagster, DBT, or Windmill
Proven ability to document, manage, and schedule large libraries of ETL jobs
Familiarity with dealing with large datasets from diverse sources, ensuring data quality and consistency
Solid scripting skills on Linux or Windows platforms, with experience in ETL processing
Intermediate knowledge of Python for automation and scripting
Experience with PostgreSQL and MPP database architectures
Expertise in data modeling
Advanced skills in Linux, Windows OS, and Office applications
Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts
