Responsibilities
Research and define data acquisition strategies for scientific lab instrumentation
Develop and productionize file parsers for instrument output formats including .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and proprietary vendor binaries
Design and implement scientific data models and scalable data pipelines, including unit and integration tests
Analyze data across instruments and workflows to create common, reusable data model components
Build visualizations, reports, and dashboards using Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook
Validate solutions end-to-end to ensure they meet customer requirements and deliver real value
Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams
Qualification
Required
Expert level Python Coding
Degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field, or 3+ years of experience in pharma or biotech working in scientific data engineering, data modeling, or analytics
Experience designing and shipping new systems—not just maintaining existing ones
Ability to architect and implement production-grade software
Hands-on experience designing schemas and taming complex, real-world (scientific) data
Build data applications that make lab data usable, searchable, and AI-ready
Interest in understanding scientific workflows and domain problems
Comfortable joining customer calls to learn real-world use cases
Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with high ownership
Interest in applying AI and LLMs to solve challenging data problems
Ability to quickly understand highly technical products and workflows
Intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver
Preferred
Experience with data visualization or dashboarding tools (Streamlit, Tableau, Jupyter)
Background working directly with laboratory instruments or experimental workflows
Exposure to AI/ML-driven analytics in scientific or life sciences contexts
