Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close, pricing and special projects
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Management of 7 direct reports
Develop, monitor, and report on key financial metrics to support business decision-making
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and insurance providers as needed
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, promoting cross-training and professional growth
Monitor workload distribution and provide coaching to ensure team effectiveness
Foster a collaborative, transparent, and results-oriented accounting department
Collaborate with sales, operations, and warehouse management to provide financial insights and analysis
Assist with pricing strategies, contract evaluation, and vendor negotiations
Oversee sales commissions, billing accuracy, and permit-holder sales reconciliation
Identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and accuracy
Leverage accounting systems and software to optimize workflow and reporting capabilities

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with accounting software, Excel, and financial reporting tools
Preferred
CPA preferred
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or consumer goods industries is a plus
