AWS Infrastructure Architect
IT Associates is a Billion Dollar Managed Service provider seeking a highly skilled AWS Architect with strong Engineering expertise to lead and deliver cloud infrastructure solutions for enterprise clients. This client-facing role requires deep experience in migrating on-premises infrastructure to AWS and designing scalable architectures while working closely with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Design and architect end-to-end AWS infrastructure solutions aligned with business, security, and compliance requirements
Define target-state architectures for compute, networking, storage, and security in AWS
Create high-level and low-level design documents, architecture diagrams, and migration plans
Apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles (security, reliability, performance, cost optimization, operational excellence)
Lead infrastructure migration initiatives from on-premises or other cloud platforms to AWS
Migrate compute workloads (VMs, physical servers, applications) using services such as EC2, Auto Scaling, and container platforms
Design and implement AWS networking during migrations, including VPCs, subnets, routing, connectivity, and hybrid networking
Plan and execute migration strategies (re-host, re-platform, re-factor) using tools like AWS MGN, DMS, and CloudEndure where applicable
Hands-on implementation of AWS services including EC2, VPC, ALB/NLB, Route 53, IAM, S3, EBS, RDS
Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools
Automate provisioning, deployment, and scaling using CI/CD pipelines and scripting
Ensure infrastructure is secure, highly available, and resilient
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, conducting architecture workshops and technical discussions
Gather and analyze client requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Present architectural designs, migration approaches, and best practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborate with client teams, project managers, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful delivery
Qualification
Required
8–12+ years (with strong hands-on AWS experience)
Strong experience as an AWS Architect with hands-on engineering background
Deep knowledge of AWS compute services (EC2, Auto Scaling, ECS/EKS)
Strong expertise in AWS networking, including: VPC design (subnets, route tables, IGW, NAT), VPN, Direct Connect, hybrid connectivity, Security groups, NACLs, and traffic flow design
Experience migrating on-premises infrastructure to AWS, particularly compute and networking
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
Good understanding of security, IAM, encryption, and compliance in AWS
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
Strong client-facing and communication skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and simple manner
Experience working in consulting or professional services environments
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Preferred
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect – Professional preferred)
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)
Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
