Responsibilities

Assisting the Resident Maintenance Engineer (RME) and Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer (ARME) in a State Highway Administration maintenance shop

Managing personnel, equipment, facilities, inventory, budget expenditures, and resources necessary for highway maintenance

Directing, planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating the work of maintenance employees, contractors, and inmate crews

Ensuring roadway and adjacent areas and SHA facilities are maintained in accordance with safety and environmental regulations

Developing and implementing timely resolutions of emergency situations including major weather events and roadway incidents

Providing necessary resources to develop timely responses to internal and external customer concerns
