Mechanical Engineer

Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to support the Product Engineering Team. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and specifying mechanical parts and assemblies for various products in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

Reviews technical drawings and mechanical specifications to ensure proper application of products within mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
Supports the design of mechanical components and sub-systems for power/low voltage products including component selection, general layouts, assembly design and installation
Performs detailed design calculations to ensure design compliance with project requirements
Studies and understands related government and industry standards that govern the products being developed
Produce relevant documentation needed to meet project goals, mechanical layouts, mechanical component prints, mechanical assemblies, and compliance documents. Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis
Participate and present technical information during design meetings or reviews
Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts components
Supports the creation of complex 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies
Help develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products
Prepare Bills of Materials and prepare Change Notices to release components and assemblies
Support costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level
Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products
Self-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards
Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed
Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs
Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed
Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Required

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
Internship or 6 months of work experience
Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
Design experience with structural enclosures, mechanical assemblies, HVAC systems, mechanical piping, firefighting systems, and/or power generation
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes
Experience in mechanical components or equipment within the energy industry
Ability to work independently
Experience in the design and development of electrical components
PLC programming experience

Preferred

2 years of product design experience preferred
