Purchasing Inventory Control

Responsibilities
Creates and maintains vendor purchases to support production schedules, establishes priorities and revises schedule according to changes in customer requirements
Maintain safety stock levels of approved Raw Materials using DDMRP methodology and tools
Performs Cycle Counts of Raw Materials and maintains an accurate inventory in ERP system
Reviews plant work order updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis Develops an integrated, optimized monthly/weekly purchasing plan based on campaign length considerations, production constraints, and forecasted/dependent demand to maintain plant productivity and on-time delivery
Performs daily download of purchase orders and maintains the accuracy of order status in the BPCS system
Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work and adjust schedules as required to achieve specific objectives
Provide timely responses to scheduling and sales in support of customer inquires and quotations, to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in accordance with lead time expectations
Work as part of the Supply Chain Team to maximize flow of information and materials throughout the site
Maintains and projects a positive attitude in potentially high-stress situations. Assists in Alkegen’s mission to create a cleaner, quieter, and safer world
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 5 years of applicable manufacturing experience
Certification in APICS, ASCM, or DDI
Fundamental knowledge of Manufacturing processes and objectives
Fundamental knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
Proficient in Adaptive Coaching skills: listening, asking, and responding
Five years of planning, scheduling, or inventory control experience
Strong communication, computer, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with a wide range of technical, sales and manufacturing personnel
Strong computer skills, MS Office, and use of MRP/ERP systems
Preferred
Formal Project Management training
