Financial Analyst
Upside Search is partnering with a global manufacturing organization to identify a Financial Analyst who plays a key role in costing, margin analysis, inventory accuracy, and operational decision support. This role involves working closely with plant and operations leadership to provide insights that improve efficiency and support better forecasting.
Responsibilities
Own daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing costing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs, including standard vs. actuals and margin performance
Review and explain manufacturing variances (PPV, POV, absorption, labor efficiency, etc.)
Support inventory controls including cycle counts, demo inventory, and vendor inventory activity
Maintain and update cost standards and cost rolls
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas
Partner closely with operations and plant leadership to provide insights that improve efficiency, reduce inventory, and support better forecasting
Build financial models and ad-hoc analysis for special projects and business initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2–5 years of accounting/financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing analytics
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling, etc.)
Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive — someone who enjoys improving processes
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred
Experience working in SAP (strongly preferred)
Experience with tools like OneStream or SAP AFO is a plus but not required
