Account Executive - Coastal North Carolina
Benchmark Tool & Supply is a North Carolina-based distributor focused on providing quality products and supplies to the construction, surveying, and engineering industries. The Account Executive is responsible for driving new business revenue through customer engagement, product knowledge, and seamless sales processes while collaborating with internal teams to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Respond to inbound inquiries and proactively reach out to prospective customers via phone, email, and other communication channels
Product Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge of machine control systems, construction tools, and related equipment to effectively support customer needs
Sales Process Management: Lead customers through the entire sales cycle—from initial contact to closing—ensuring a positive and efficient experience
Order Management: Process orders accurately and coordinate with operations to ensure timely delivery
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships to drive new and repeat business
Territory Management: Execute weekly route planning and manage assigned territory to maximize sales opportunities
Product Promotion: Demonstrate products, explain features, and highlight value propositions to prospective customers
Collaboration: Work closely with Service & Support and Customer Service to share information and support a unified customer experience
Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner
Sales Reporting: Track pipeline activity, customer feedback, and market trends to support forecasting and strategy
Market Awareness: Monitor market conditions, competitor products, and pricing to stay informed and competitive
Continual Learning: Stay current on industry trends, new product developments, and competitive offerings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
5+ years of proven outside sales or customer relationship management experience
Territory management and formal sales training experience required
Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
High energy, self-motivated, and driven to succeed
Preferred
Experience in heavy equipment, compact equipment, or related industry strongly preferred
Basic knowledge of equipment financing and accounting is a plus
