Responsibilities
Perform investment accounting for the bank’s securities portfolio, including amortization, accretion, and valuation analysis
Prepare and post journal entries related to investments and general ledger activity
Support month-end close, including account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews
Maintain and reconcile investment sub-ledgers to the general ledger
Assist with accounting for the Bank's Loan Portfolio
Monitor investment activity, purchases, sales, maturities, and unrealized gains/losses
Prepare supporting schedules for management, auditors, and regulators
Partner with Treasury and Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting of investment activity
Support process improvements and strengthen internal controls
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA strongly preferred (or CPA-eligible)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting
Experience with AFS / HTM accounting and investment reconciliations
Advanced Excel skills; experience with investment accounting systems a plus
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
Preferred
Prior experience with investment or securities accounting within banking or financial services strongly preferred
