The N.C. Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. They are seeking a Regional Maintenance Technician I to join the Mountain Regional Maintenance Team, where the individual will learn skills in general preventative maintenance and perform various maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Learn the skills to perform general preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account system replacements

Gain useful experience in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of general, plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical systems, equipment, and machinery

Commute daily to DECM – Mountain Regional Maintenance Yard in Lenoir, NC

Work full-time (40 hours per week) with a schedule of Monday – Friday, possibly including some weekend work and overnight travel

Required

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma or a sufficient year-for-year combination of education and experience associated with a variety of mechanical or building trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F
