Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end Power BI architecture, including dataflows, datasets, reports, workspaces, and gateways
Design and maintain semantic models and star schemas optimized for performance and self-service analytics
Establish and follow BI governance standards including security, row-level security, and workspace strategy
Design and develop interactive, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports
Translate business requirements and KPIs into intuitive visualizations and drill-down experiences
Apply best practices for usability, performance, and mobile-friendly reporting
Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Excel, flat files, cloud platforms, and APIs
Optimize queries, datasets, and models for large data volumes and performance
Partner with data engineers to support ETL and ELT pipelines feeding BI solutions
Develop and maintain custom integrations, APIs, and services using C# and .NET
Build reusable utilities to support reporting, automation, and data extraction
Ensure secure, reliable, and scalable integration patterns
Implement version control and deployment processes across development, test, and production environments
Monitor usage and adoption metrics to continuously improve BI content
Promote data consistency and a single source of truth across the organization
Work closely with business leaders, analysts, and technical teams
Lead requirements sessions, demos, and proofs of concept
Provide documentation, training, and production support as needed
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience developing solutions in Power BI
Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling
Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, and views
Hands-on development experience with C# and .NET (preferably .NET Core)
Experience building or consuming REST APIs using JSON or XML
Familiarity with Git or Azure DevOps for version control
