Resident Engineer/Construction Manager

Responsibilities
Interface extensively with client stakeholders, contractors and the Jacobs cross-functional team
Provide oversight of the pre-construction and construction processes to ensure that the project is safely and accurately implemented on site adhering to the requirements of the construction contract and permitting requirements
Lead a team in monitoring the progress of construction project and advising steps to ensure the project goals are achieved
Manage and direct a team of support staff and site Inspectors for the supervision of the project
Report on progress, safety, financial projections, quality control and changes in the contract work
Review of change orders for validity and cost reasonableness
Develop a trusted relationship with the project team, contractor and with the client’s staff
Emphasize on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction
Report to the Jacobs Project Manager and supervise the project team (inspectors, office engineers etc.)
Interface and work daily with the client’s team, project stakeholders and contractor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering management or Construction Management
7+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager or Construction Manager in an Engineering, Environmental or Construction organization
Proven experience within large construction programs
Strong working knowledge of pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship
Valid Driver's license and good driving history
Ability to Travel for occasional project site visits
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager
