Responsibilities
Work on aggregating agricultural work to help users analyze their farm data in John Deere Operations Center
Developing and supporting high quality John Deere RESTful APIs and backend data processing systems
Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications
Engaging in Agile software development activities including team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and other supporting teams to define product requirements and system design
Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration
Interfacing regularly with customers to ensure technical solutions are meeting their needs. This position will focus on a very high visibility project, with many dependencies and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
5 years of experience with Go, Scala, C, C++, Java or similar programming language
2 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
2 years of experience with system design and architecture
2 years of experience optimizing systems for large-scale data processing & storage
Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other IT related discipline
Preferred
Experience developing with Go
Experience with GIS development
Experience or education in higher level mathematics
Solid communication skills and willingness to have constructive, healthy debate
