The role involves leading design teams for transportation projects, managing client relationships, and overseeing engineering tasks for GDOT and municipal projects.

Responsibilities

Assist in leading and continue developing the Civil/Highway design team

Providing guidance and mentoring of staff and direct work assignments

Collaborating with leadership to determine long-range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing

Lead project tasks for conceptual and preliminary engineering and final design activities, as well as development of construction plans, calculations and specifications

Coordinate with other design disciplines such as structures, hydraulics, traffic, and utilities, etc

Participate hands-on in the preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)

Review, monitor and/or develop complex layouts, sketches, plans, specifications and estimates standards and guidelines, correspondence, and/or prepare reports

Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering

7+ years of experience in large transportation and infrastructure projects

Professional Engineering License in GA or ability to obtain in six months

Significant experience leading design teams on GDOT and municipal projects (highway, roadway geometric design, roadway plan production, and drainage design)

Developing skills in project and staff management experience on civil transportation projects

Experience with daily mentoring of junior staff

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
