Responsibilities

Meeting with clients in person and via Zoom/phone

Communicating with clients, opposing lawyers, and judges via email or letter

Organizing and maintaining file organization for family law matters

Balancing ongoing and emerging priorities for matters assigned to your team

Drafting motions, pleadings, and orders for filing at the courthouse

Preparing discovery and responses to discovery requests

Helping attorneys prepare cases for evidentiary hearings and trials

Being a team player and covering for your fellow teammates to help the Firm and clients find clarity around and relief from the situation that brought them to the firm in the first place

Required

A strong interest in family law and helping people

Proven track record of assisting clients in a law firm setting

Prior paralegal or legal assistance experience

Experience with PracticePanther/Clio/My Case or other cloud-based law office management software

Independent, self-starter who thrives on immersion in a rapidly changing environment and has excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Proactive, can-do attitude, with great follow-through and resourcefulness, along with attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persistent

Knowledge of the legal industry

Preferred

Real-life experience & a few “battle scars” to give you client empathy and understanding is an asset

Experience overcoming a major obstacle in life and making an important change in your life, so you know at your core that others can do it too, is a plus
