Responsibilities

Develop and maintain firmware supporting next-generation interconnect technologies, including AMD proprietary solutions and industry standards such as PCIe, CXL, MCTP, UBM, and USB4
Design and implement low-level embedded firmware in an RTOS environment
Collaborate closely with BMC, power management, architecture, design, and verification teams to deliver integrated firmware solutions
Participate in pre-silicon validation, including co-simulation with IP and SoC emulation platforms
Support post-silicon bring-up, enablement, and production lifecycle activities
Own firmware development across the entire design cycle (pre-silicon, post-silicon, and production)
Debug, triage, and resolve firmware issues during silicon bring-up through production

Required

5+ years of experience in embedded firmware or device driver development
Strong programming expertise in C; proficiency in C++ or Python is a plus
Hands-on experience with Zephyr RTOS
Deep knowledge of industry-standard manageability protocols: PLDM, MCTP, SPDM
Experience with low-level hardware protocols including I2C, I3C, PCIe, JTAG, SPI, eSPI, UART
Proven experience delivering end-to-end firmware solutions from pre-silicon through production
Strong skills in firmware lab debugging, silicon bring-up, and production issue resolution
Comfortable working in a Linux build and development environment
Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (or higher)
5+ years of firmware development experience
3+ years of manageability firmware experience

Preferred

Previous BMC firmware development experience (e.g., Dell iDRAC, Dell CMC, HP iLO) – strong plus
Experience with OpenBMC or other open-source BMC software stacks
Understanding of security concepts such as Root of Trust, Verified Boot, and Measured Boot
Experience using Git and code review tools such as Gerrit
Familiarity with ARM architecture
Ability to read and interpret digital hardware schematics
Strong analytical mindset with a structured debug methodology
