Responsibilities

Lead a specialized crew responsible for tower and ground operations, sweep testing, tower maintenance and installation, coax and antenna installation, required RF testing, and related field responsibilities in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines
Coordinate daily with customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership, communicating progress, challenges, and site conditions
Provide training, guidance, and work leadership to subordinate climbers and tower technicians to maximize safety, productivity, and quality while managing costs
Climb towers and work at heights up to 500 feet while performing manual labor in outdoor environments
Complete required paperwork on time
Direct tower-top troubleshooting and direct corrective actions to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality work

Required

Ability to climb towers and work at heights up to 500 feet while performing manual labor in outdoor environments
Basic computer skills and the ability to complete required paperwork on time
Ability to travel extensively, including overtime, evenings, and weekends
Valid driver's license and ability to qualify as an approved company driver
Ability to perform tower rescues
Ability to train and develop subordinate staff
Strong understanding of complex rigging procedures, working load limits, weatherproofing, tower precon, and advanced cathead operations
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and RFDS
Knowledge of antenna/equipment mounting and rigging procedures
Knowledge of carriers, color codes, and routing guidelines
Ability to direct tower‑top troubleshooting
Ability to configure RETs
Ability to complete JSAs, conduct tailgate meetings, and lead a tiger team
Ability to use a compass and understand declination
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
Ability to drive and back a truck/trailer confidently
Ability to perform vehicle inspections and complete daily DOT paperwork
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass all required pre‑employment screenings (background check, DOT inspection, drug screen)
ComTrain certification
OSHA 30 certification
TTT1 certification
Connector training
First Aid/CPR certification
PIM certification and ability to operate PIM gear
Sweep certification and ability to operate sweep gear
Fiber certification and ability to operate fiber gear
Ability to obtain a DOT physical card

Preferred

Experience in the telecommunications industry
Prior experience with LTE upgrades and related technologies
Advanced knowledge of OSHA safety and quality guidelines, tools, and telecom construction practices
Demonstrated understanding of crane signals
