HR & Safety Associate

The People (HR) & Safety Associate plays a critical role in executing and maintaining Environmental Health & Safety programs while providing administrative support across the People Team to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

Responsibilities
Provide HR administrative and operational support for the People Team across the organization (not limited to Fresno and Dinuba)
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, system updates, and required training completion
Maintain employee records, compliance documentation, and HRIS workflows in Dayforce
Support workers’ compensation administration, leave of absence coordination (in partnership with external vendors), and benefits administration inquiries
Respond to employee support requests and route or escalate issues appropriately
Assist with employee relations documentation and investigations as directed by People Operations leadership
Provide limited recruiting support for frontline manufacturing roles in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team, including: conducting initial phone screens (as needed), supporting interview coordination and candidate communication
Support HR audits, reporting, employee engagement initiatives, and People Team process improvements
Partner with People Operations on general HR communication and administrative projects as assigned
Execute and maintain EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company standards
Conduct safety audits, facility inspections, and risk assessments; document findings and support corrective action plans
Lead incident reporting, investigations, and root-cause analysis; ensure timely documentation and follow-up
Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, required postings, and audit readiness documentation
Coordinate and deliver required safety training, including PPE, lockout/tagout, equipment safety, chemical handling, and emergency response procedures
Support emergency preparedness planning and facilitate drills
Administer workers’ compensation processes, including injury reporting, coordination with providers, and return-to-work tracking
Support safety committees, near-miss reporting, and safety culture initiatives
Serve as the on-site point of contact for safety-related inspections or inquiries, escalating as appropriate
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in Human Resources, or a blended EHS/HR role in a manufacturing environment (required)
Working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards
Experience supporting workers' compensation and HR administrative processes
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety or human resources (or equivalent work experience)
Must be able to work on-site (Monday-Friday) in Fresno and Dinuba, CA
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
Preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Experience with Dayforce HCM and Dayforce ATS (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
