Cabling Technician
Weaver Technologies is seeking a Cabling Technician who will build the infrastructure of telecom networks, including LANs, WANs, and CATV. The role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining video and data cables as well as copper and fiber cabling infrastructure to ensure ongoing success and growth in the field.

Responsibilities
Assemble and arrange material and equipment
Explain and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, particular needs, and instructions
Run, pull, stop and splice copper and fiber optic cables, such as CAT5, SE, CAT6, low voltage cables, and fiber
Mount telecom equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements
Aid in arranging routers, hubs, install support structures, including racks, ladders, and j-hooks, and switches using data provided by all teams within the organization
Install access control systems and surveillance cameras, and maintain good relations with clients by listening to and then sorting out their issues or escalating the same to their seniors
Manage and maintain exact inventory for parts, tools, and supplies
Install closet hardware, including connecting blocks, fiber enclosures, racks, backboards, and patch panels
Qualification
Required
Applicants must reside or be willing to relocate to the San Antonio, Texas area
High School Diploma or its equivalent combination of education and experience
Assemble and arrange material and equipment

Position requires climbing ladders, frequent walking, stooping, crawling, pushing, balancing, lifting of more than 50 lbs. and operating heavy equipment
Works in confined areas, stockroom, closets, etc. above and below ground level

Network installation: Installing network cables is a crucial part of a cabling technician's job. They need to know how to install network jacks, patch panels and other hardware. This includes knowing how to read and interpret diagrams and schematics to ensure the proper installation of the network
Cable management: Cable management is the ability to organize and store cables in a way that ensures they don't interfere with the operation of a computer or other device. This includes knowing how to coil and tape cables, as well as how to route them through walls and other obstacles. Cable management is an important part of ensuring the safety of the people who use the network
Communication: Communication skills are necessary for networking and working with other technicians. They also help you to convey information to clients and managers. Effective communication skills can help you to collaborate with others to solve problems and find solutions
Problem-solving: Problem-solving skills allow you to identify issues, develop solutions and implement them. As a cabling technician, you may be responsible for diagnosing and repairing network issues. Your ability to identify the source of the problem and develop a solution can help you save time and money
Electrical knowledge: Electrical knowledge is the ability to understand how electrical systems work. This includes knowledge of electrical components, how they function and how to troubleshoot them. Electrical knowledge is important for network cabling technicians because they need to understand how to properly install and maintain the network's electrical system
