Aero Component Repair Engineer

GE Vernova is seeking a Gas Turbine Component Repair Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ownership of repair development and qualification for various gas turbine components, involving engineering analysis and communication with repair facilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and industrialize Aero Gas Turbine component repairs
Design analysis and evaluation of assigned engine components to ensure their operational life and substantiate the define repairability limits
Provide oversight and direction for the creation of component CAD models, drawings, and specifications for gas turbine components
Develop repair procedures and inspection methods
Support repair process qualifications and work with engineering partners to support repair standardization and industrialization
Act as the technical focal point for the disposition of component repair Departure Records (DRs) related to your assigned components
Participate as a presenter in technical and/or program reviews
Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects/tasks in line with engineering policies and procedures
Support engineering and business partners to ensure that newly developed repair processes, procedures, limits, etc. are properly incorporated into appropriate shop, vendor, and engineering manuals & documents

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
0-2 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, Services, repair, or design environment

Preferred

Experience with inspection technologies, including FPI, X-Ray, and Eddy Current
Experience with repair special processes, including welding, brazing, thermal spray, heat treat, machining, blending, coating, and surface treatments
Strong mechanical design and analytical background
Strong interpersonal and collaborative team skills. Ability to connect effectively with a broad group of stakeholders
Solid oral and written communication skills
Gas turbine design knowledge/background
