New Grad, Entry LevelPhoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking an Insurance and Authorization Specialist to join their Springfield, Mo team. The role involves working closely with the Healthcare Billing and Operation Teams to ensure patient profiles, demographics, and authorizations are accurately maintained and processed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
Verify benefits and coverage for all new referrals with private insurance that is sent to HCP of Texas
Obtain initial authorization for all private insurance patients for Starts of Care
Manage the number of visits authorized and maintain additional authorizations for all patients as clinicians communicate a continued need for service
Correspond with both the therapy contract companies and HCP clinicians regarding insurance
Send clinical requests to Med Records for immediate completion
Communicate with Intake/scheduling when an SOC or ROC can be scheduled with a clinician
Send needed clinical documentation to insurance companies
Coordinate with DON on discharges necessary due to patient running out of insurance benefits
Maintain Email Accounts Assist billing with claim issues on any discrepancies
Coordinate with coding department for required documentation Document all communication in HCNet
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong computer proficiency
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Data Entry Experience
Must be self-motivated
Must have past customer service experience
Previous experience working in an office/professional setting
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Ability to multitask and stay organized
Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
Preferred
Experience with Submitting Insurance Authorizations strongly preferred
Previous experience working with Home Health authorization or billing is preferred but not required
