Responsibilities

Lead and manage governmental audit engagements in accordance with:
GASB
GAAS
GAGAS (Yellow Book)
Uniform Guidance / Single Audit
Oversee planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and issuance of financial statements and compliance reports
Serve as primary client contact for audit matters, deadlines, and technical issues
Identify and communicate audit findings, internal control deficiencies, and compliance matters
Ensure audits are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with firm quality standards
Interpret and apply complex governmental accounting and auditing standards
Review financial statements, notes, and supplementary information
Advise clients on accounting changes, new GASB pronouncements, and regulatory developments
Provide guidance on federal and state compliance requirements
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate audit staff and seniors
Review workpapers and provide timely, constructive feedback
Assist in staffing, scheduling, and resource planning
Support training and professional development initiatives within the practice
Manage multiple engagements simultaneously
Review staff workpapers and draft reports
Assist with client proposals and engagement scoping
Begin developing client relationship management skills
Oversee large, complex governmental audits and multiple client relationships
Resolve advanced technical and reporting issues
Play a key role in client retention and expansion
Coach managers and senior staff
Assist with practice management, budgeting, and quality control
Provide strategic leadership for the government audit practice
Lead business development, including proposals, presentations, and networking
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior government officials and boards
Drive practice growth, innovation, and thought leadership
Participate in firm leadership, policy setting, and long-term planning
Represent the firm in professional organizations and industry groups
