The Intersect Group is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to support perimeter and edge security initiatives within their Network Security project team. This role focuses on firewall implementations, VPN connectivity, and securing communication between internal systems and external entities. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with deep experience in Fortinet technologies and perimeter security.

Responsibilities

Monitor, investigate, and respond to network security events and alerts using enterprise tools

Configure, support, and troubleshoot IPSEC VPNs (site‑to‑site and remote access)

Provide hands-on support for edge firewall implementations and firewall policy changes

Support daily operations of the Network Perimeter Security Engineering team

Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot perimeter and edge security platforms

Work with internal teams, vendors, customers, and partners to establish extranet VPN connections

Support and maintain perimeter security technologies, including:

Intrusion prevention systems (IPS)

Web filtering

SSL‑VPN and remote access

Reverse proxy solutions

2‑factor authentication solutions

Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records
