Transmission Planning Engineer
Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to support power system planning and reliability assessments for projects on the East Coast. In this role, you’ll conduct studies, evaluate system performance, and develop strategies to enhance transmission reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Perform power flow, short-circuit, and stability studies using PSSE, TARA, and PowerWorld
Develop and analyze transmission expansion plans to ensure system reliability and compliance
Assess the impact of new generation, load growth, and interconnections on the grid
Work closely with ISO-NE, PJM, and NYISO to meet planning and regulatory requirements
Conduct NERC TPL compliance studies and support regulatory filings
Provide technical recommendations and present findings to internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred)
5-6+ years of experience in transmission planning or power system analysis
Proficiency in PSSE, TARA, PowerWorld, and other regional planning tools
Knowledge of NERC, FERC, and East Coast ISO/RTO planning criteria (PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex findings effectively
