Responsibilities
Lead all phases of projects, including design review, detailing, fabrication, delivery, erection, and project closeout, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets
Analyze project scopes, review proposals, contracts, and blueprints to determine requirements, identify risks, and develop detailed project plans
Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., estimators, detailers, purchasing, & fabrication), erectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve issues promptly
Monitor project progress, manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, implementing adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and financial goals
Attend job kick off meetings, conduct regular site visits as needed, and ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality control measures
Prepare and present progress reports, change orders, and final documentation to stakeholders, while directing monthly invoicing based on progress, negotiations concerning project issues and change orders
Identify opportunities for value engineering, cost savings, and schedule improvements to enhance project efficiency and client satisfaction
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to team members as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in the steel industry
Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural and miscellaneous steel project management, fabrication, or erection or similar project management experience
Strong knowledge of structural steel components, miscellaneous metals, fabrication processes, and industry standards such as AISC is preferable
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project), blueprint reading, and Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency reading construction drawings for structural requirements and developing material take offs
Proficiency in basic accounting and estimating for developing change order cost
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong negotiation and client relationship management abilities a must
Willingness to work extended hours as needed to manage project operations effectively
Preferred
Experience with 3D modeling software like Tekla Structures & AutoCAD a plus
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent a plus
Previous experience with steel fabrication management software
