Sr Data Architect, IT

Responsibilities
Plan and implement database designs, including the creation and maintenance of cloud databases
Allocate resources such as Storage / Compute / Memory. Implement strategies for HA, Failover DR and Replication
Fine-tune database systems to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability - including monitoring and optimizing database query performance, indexing etc
Establish access and authentication controls to secure data, setup encryption, masking as required
Manage and monitor performance, security, and availability of databases
Implement database backup and disaster recovery procedures
Work with development teams to optimize database usage and query performance
Coordinate and manage migration of databases to Azure platform
Perform capacity planning and demand forecasting for database systems
Identify and troubleshoot any database-related issues in a timely manner

Stay current with the latest Azure technologies, trends, and techniques
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
5 years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support of one or more DBMS platforms required (Azure DB offerings, SQL Server 2019, Oracle 19c)
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
7+ years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support of one or more DBMS platforms required (Azure DB offerings, SQL Server 2019, Oracle 19c)
