Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, processes, and procedures in compliance with AS9100, ISO9000, and other relevant standards
Conduct quality audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
Support manufacturing operations by providing quality expertise and ensuring products meet customer requirements
Analyze quality data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Train and mentor team members on quality practices and procedures
Participate in new product development projects to ensure quality is integrated from the outset
Maintain documentation and records in accordance with quality system requirements
Other activities as assigned

Required

Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering/Science
5+ years' proven experience in a Quality Engineer role in a production environment
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 QM System and/or related quality systems and programs
Ability to support manufacturing schedules (A-Shift; Mon - Fri; 8am – 5pm) and overtime on as needed basis
Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Required for all positions: Blue's Standard Background Check
Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation
Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training
Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Preferred

American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
Experience in Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation highly preferred
Experience with IPC J-STD-001 (Space Addendum)
Experience with IPC 620 standard (IPC-WHMA-A-620)
Experience in GD&T fundamentals
Experience in conducting first article inspections (FAI)
Experience with quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis and corrective action
Experience with advanced product quality planning (APQP), process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem-solving approaches
Quality Management System audit experience
Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
