This role involves supporting steering system design and lifecycle management while collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities
Coordinate model lifecycle management for steering systems across light-duty trucks, SUVs, and minivans
Manage and update technical documentation, drawings, and parts lists based on vehicle change points or cross-functional requests
Perform regulation and certification confirmation activities
Lead communication between design, supplier, and project management teams
Monitor steering-related field issues and warranty data within North America
Conduct root cause investigations for steering component concerns as needed
Support benchmarking activities and evaluate cost-reduction proposals with suppliers
Develop and recommend proposals for implementation of approved improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Strong problem-solving skills and effective interpersonal communication abilities
5+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer or equivalent technical role
Preferred
Experience with chassis design and development
Experience using CATIA
