Manager, Sales & Technical Training

Responsibilities
Assesses training needs relative to corporate objectives. In collaboration with Sales, develops innovative, effective, timely, and quality training programs for sales delivery to dealer sales and service, government, and dental school personnel
Plans, develops, and implements training programs containing different subject modules using multiple learning methods, including on-the-job, classroom, virtual, and blended learning delivery, based on adult learning principles and business needs
Uses instructional design systems to assess needs, design, develop, implement and evaluate curriculum while managing existing learning programs. Partners with subject matter experts and the Sales & Technical Trainers to create curriculum content
Supervises the Sales and Technical Training team, schedules and oversees technical training events, including the annual calendar of training programs. Manages the large, complex training budget associated with these events and programs
Administers A-dec’s Academy of General Dentistry and American Dental Association Continuing Education (CE) programs, ensuring that we meet A-dec and accrediting body standards. Coordinates CE committee, renewals, contracts and accreditation
Creates and manages high value CE training programs and standards, expectations and measurements offered both online and face-to-face. Maintains A-dec’s CE content and speaker relationships
Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results to ensure department goals are met
Creates and manages training standards, expectations and measurements
Assists with the development of A-dec’s sales force by developing, initiating and maintaining initial sales training programs for all sales job families across all sales divisions; provides development opportunities to enhance employee’s existing knowledge, skills and abilities; and implementing learning reinforcement strategies
Manages the development of online learning and oversight of the Learning Management System to deliver training programs globally
Facilitates and/or attends training events including dinners and occasional evening or weekend events. Helps design and deliver the Global Sales meeting
Facilitates offsite trainings, which may require up to 25% domestic and/or international travel
Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and maintain a solid track record of results while guiding teams to consensus, alignment, and action
Maintains continual awareness of company marketing strategies/objectives and adult learning best practices while actively pursuing knowledge of cutting-edge technologies in the learning and development field
Qualification
Required
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work/projects and strong attention to detail along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must possess leadership skills with the ability to achieve challenging results with and through others while consistently establishing rapport and collaboration with leaders, team members, and partners
Must have advanced presentation and organizational skills along with a mastery of standard business and presentation software
Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the distinct ability to integrate critical information from diverse sources into presentations and programs to be used by the dental industry and the company
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced instructional principles, methods, techniques and standards, as well as knowledge of current and emerging trends in learning design and development
Demonstrated ability to align work with the strategic goals of the organization while understanding business needs and implications of decisions
Ability to and experience in successfully leading and directing the work of others
Ability to identify appropriate solutions and deliver results as well as the ability to proactively anticipate customer needs. Also approaches work with an authentic, people-centered attitude and with a true interest in life-long learning and helping others thrive
Ability to plan, organize, and manage resources for the successful completion of program goals, and must be able to work autonomously to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
Generally requires a Bachelor's degree in education, communications, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibility in the communications field, plus 5 year supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a four year degree
