Operations Manager - Logistics & Procurement
HC Forklift America is seeking an Operations Manager - Logistics & Procurement to oversee logistics, procurement, and operational activities. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient product movement and strategic sourcing while fostering collaboration across departments to meet the company's operational objectives.

Responsibilities
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and accurate logistics documentation
Manage relationships with transportation providers, warehouses, and third-party logistics partners
Monitor shipping schedules, track orders, and resolve delivery issues proactively
Align logistics activities with warehouse, sales, service, and operational priorities
Optimize transportation plans and reduce freight costs while maintaining service quality
Lead local procurement operations with end-to-end responsibility for sourcing raw materials, components, consumables, spare parts, tooling, equipment, professional services, logistics services, and construction-related procurements
Achieve cost savings through strong negotiation strategies, delivering annual savings and exceeding KPI targets
Maintain and strengthen relationships with domestic and international suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply and performance excellence
Conduct supplier performance evaluations, identify alternative sources, and support risk-mitigation strategies
Forecast price and market trends to develop purchasing strategies that maintain supply chain safety
Conduct purchasing workflows, including purchase requisitions (PR), purchase orders (PO), invoice treatment, and approvals
Collaborate with the engineering team to align procurement with mechanical projects, production line modifications, and technical requirements
Apply strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production requirements, and operational efficiency
Support product development across multiple OEM programs, including management of components from prototype through end-of-life
Collaborate with the engineering team on SQE processes, defect resolution, and engineering change management
Ensure mechanical projects and production line modifications comply with environmental guidelines and latest product processing standards
Develop and track continuous improvement plans and failure-prevention solutions to enhance manufacturing performance
Serve as a primary liaison with the engineering team to ensure strong communication and collaboration on projects, procurement, and production line modifications
Lead process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, global standardization, and workflow optimization
Track project and contractor performance, ensuring timely completion and quality standards
Coordinate with requisitioners, suppliers, and finance teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, support cash forecasting, and improve procure-to-pay processes
Handle emergencies and other duties as assigned to ensure operational continuity
Collaborate with and review engineering designs for compliance with U.S. building and industry standards (IBC, NFPA, OSHA) and product processing requirements
Conduct site supervision for construction progress, equipment installation, and quality control
Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, project schedules, specifications, and technical evaluations by studying customer requirements
Perform cost and risk analyses with the engineering team to balance expenses, time, and quality, and finalize project deals with optimal solutions
Maintain project documentation, permits, warranties, and inspection records
Provide technical input for corrective actions, trend analysis, and punch-list closure
Evaluate subordinates’ KPI performance and provide training on departmental documents, procedures, and position-specific skills
Lead procurement and contract execution for facility improvements, warehouse expansions, operational infrastructure projects, and production support systems
Manage sourcing for construction services, racking systems, offices and workspaces, mechanical systems (HVAC, fire suppression, water/wastewater, stormwater, electrical), material-handling equipment, production support equipment, and installation services
Support full project lifecycle activities including planning, design coordination, construction oversight, equipment installation, and final acceptance
Ensure all projects comply with corporate safety requirements, environmental regulations, local building codes, and relevant national standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
7+ years of experience in procurement, operations, engineering, or supply chain management
Proven experience managing large-scale procurement budgets, mechanical projects, and cross-functional teams
Background in manufacturing, heavy equipment, industrial construction, automotive, or related industries
Advanced knowledge of procurement, logistics, supply chain, and ERP systems
Strong negotiation, supplier management, cost-reduction, and project management skills
Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration abilities with the engineering team
Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
