IT Coordinator

Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is preparing to launch the New TARC Network, aiming to enhance bus service quality in Louisville. The IT Coordinator will provide administrative support to the IT Department, manage meetings, and assist with Help Desk functions while ensuring compliance with TARC policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Process purchase orders, supply orders and prepare check requests
Coordinate all Board, Committee, and public meetings in person and via a hybrid schedule
Assist with processing Help Desk tickets
Perform administrative functions including screening phone calls, maintaining departmental files, greeting visitors, drafting documents, and processing mail
Sorts and distributes mail
Draft written responses or replies by phone or e-mail when necessary
Responds to regularly occurring requests for information
Manage meeting room calendars
Schedule meetings between the IT Department and others
Maintain the Director’s calendar, scheduling appointments and conferences and making necessary arrangements, including notifying participants and assembling any pertinent data
Maintain company telephone lists and departmental contact list
Create and maintain forms and templates

Required

Associate degree from an accredited educational institution with major coursework in information technology, computer science, or a closely related field
Three (3) years of experience providing technical support to users of desktop computer hardware and software and/or providing training to users of standard software
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Kentucky or Indiana Driver's License by the time of appointment and a satisfactory driving record
Operations, services, and activities of a comprehensive IT program
Basic knowledge of the connection/relationships across multiple technology services and operations
Operational characteristics of desktop, network, and telecommunication systems hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
Principles, practices, methods, and techniques of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving desktop computer hardware and software issues
Protocols for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware, standardized software packages, and peripherals
Research and reporting methods, techniques, and procedures
Various federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations relevant to the work performed
Principles and practices of customer service
Principles and techniques for working with groups and fostering effective team interaction to ensure teamwork is conducted smoothly
The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination
Computers and software programs (e.g., Microsoft software packages) to conduct research, assess information, and/or prepare documentation
Perform a variety of IT technical duties in support of the department's operations with respect to service delivery and training
Elicit information from end users, triage priorities, conduct diagnostic procedures, and take appropriate action
Install and configure desktop computers, hardware, and software; connect to communication systems
Demonstrate strong and effective customer support skills
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, using appropriate English grammar and syntax
Prepare clear and concise correspondence reports and customer responses, including technical material
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of business, including TARC employees, government entities, contractors, and members of the public
Effectively use computer systems, applications, and modern business equipment to perform a variety of work tasks
