Responsibilities
Own electro-mechanical designs from Concept → CAD → prototype → production
Design system level electronics for power management and safety
Design for manufacturing: wire harnesses, PCBs, and assembly
Safety design including breakers, fuses, and appropriate wire sizing
PCB design for voltage regulators, Integrated Canbus modules, and more
Power distribution, charging, and monitoring electrical design
Wire routing design and wire bend and fatigue analysis
Hands on building with fabrication tools
Work with vendors to source proper components
Qualification
Required
Bachelors or Masters in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
5+ years experience designing products and complex electro-mechanical systems
PCB design experience
Wire harness design experience for motion joints
Hands-on experience with prototypes, shop tools, and bringing hardware to life
Understanding of electronics packaging
Understanding of battery design and management
Some leadership experience
Preferred
Experience at a large consumer product firm is a plus (2 years +)
Soldering and crimping experience is a plus
