Responsibilities
Own the architecture, design, and development of integrations across Workday, D365, OneStream, Coupa, Concur, Kyriba, and Power BI
Implement standardized integration patterns using middleware tools (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, or equivalent)
Ensure integration designs align with the enterprise canonical data model and structural rules defined by Enterprise Data Strategy
Define mapping logic, transformation rules, and validation steps for each interface
Build, configure, and maintain automated data pipelines and system interfaces
Implement robust error handling, monitoring, logging, and alerting for all integrations
Create reusable components and frameworks for repeatable integration processes
Replace manual Excel or flat-file processes with fully automated flows
Work with Data Governance to embed data validation rules, master data alignment checks, and structural integrity controls into integrations
Ensure reconciliations, data lineage, and data movement are fully documented and traceable
Support testing cycles, including functional testing, integration testing, data validation, and root cause analysis for issues
Ensure integrations meet audit, compliance, and SOX requirements where applicable
Partner with ERP, HRIS, Procurement, AP, Treasury, FP&A, and Accounting teams to understand business requirements and ensure integrations support downstream processes
Work closely with the BI Architect to ensure data pipelines feed semantic models and reporting structures correctly
Collaborate with Data Governance to maintain naming conventions, ontology alignment, and consistent definitions across systems
Establish and operate monitoring frameworks to ensure timely detection and resolution of integration failures
Lead root cause analysis for integration issues and implement long-term corrective actions
Proactively identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and standardize integration flows
Maintain detailed documentation of all interfaces, dependencies, and support procedures
Document all integrations, mappings, data flows, lineage, validation logic, and dependencies
Provide knowledge transfer to ERP, Data, and IT teams at regular intervals and at engagement close
Support training for internal teams who will own or use integration outputs
Qualification
Required
12–15+ years of experience in integrations, middleware, or data engineering roles, ideally in ERP/financial system environments
Deep expertise with one or more integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, Workday Studio, or similar)
Strong understanding of APIs, web services, SFTP, event-based integrations, batching frameworks, and message queues
Experience integrating core enterprise systems (ERP, HRIS, procurement, T&E, consolidation, BI tools)
Strong data modeling and mapping skills; ability to interpret, translate, and align master data structures
Familiarity with financial processes, accounting flows, and system dependencies across HR, AP, Procurement, and Treasury
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning expertise
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and functional teams
Preferred
Experience in environments undergoing major ERP or finance transformations strongly preferred
