Responsibilities
Maintain integrity of data within the general ledger while participating in the monthly close process
Prepare and/or review monthly work papers to support balance sheet accounts
Complete and review bank reconciliations
Reconcile month end subsidiary ledger to general ledger and resolve and discrepancies
Understand transaction flow and journal entries behind the reports
Ability to spot anomalies to make appropriate corrections
Produce monthly financial reports and analyses
Work directly with Corporate Controller and CFO on optimizing the department’s workflow
Assist with all audits including annual compliance audits/reviews
Participate as part of a team that produces the annual budget and forecasts
Reports significant budget to actual differences to management
Cost accounting, including monthly and yearly percentage complete entries
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Keeps financial information and plans confidential
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
At least three to five years of general ledger accounting experience, including financial statement preparation
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully
Listen actively; respond well to questions; communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization, and maintain confidentiality
Write clearly and informatively
Accountable for own actions; follow through on commitments
Demonstrated ability to perform accurate, detailed and thorough work
Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision for routine tasks
Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
Knowledge of fixed assets rules
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, and especially in Excel
Preferred
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Experience in Prophet 21 (Epicor) software is a plus
