Electrical Engineer – EO/IR System Development

Leidos is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join their Sensor Systems Analysis and Engineering Portfolio team in the development of cutting-edge EO/IR sensor systems. This role is critical in supporting the design, integration, and testing of advanced electronic systems for defense and aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test electrical components and systems for EO/IR sensor system applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software solutions
Conduct system-level testing and validation to ensure compliance with performance specifications
Analyze and troubleshoot electrical issues, providing timely solutions to enhance system reliability
Document design processes, test results, and technical specifications for project records
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical system design, development, and testing
Proficiency in circuit design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE)
Strong understanding of electronic components and systems, including sensors and signal processing
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Must be a resident or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area
Ability and willingness to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred

Experience with infrared sensor technology and seeker systems
Familiarity with military standards and regulations related to defense systems
Knowledge of software programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python) for embedded systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Current DoD Secret clearance
