Principal Electrical Engineer 3 - Lead Common Cable Team

Responsibilities
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in electrical engineering and related disciplines to evaluate designs and provide technical guidance
Lead a team of electrical engineers focused on cable design in a dynamic and high-demand environment
Oversee, prioritize, and balance program workloads across the team to meet project requirements and deadlines
Serve as the primary point of contact for team progress and deliverable status
Study basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to address cable requirements and resolve issues impacting system design
Apply a thorough understanding of company electrical engineering technical standards to ensure compliance and quality in designs
Foster a collaborative and positive team environment by contributing constructively to discussions and supporting team decisions
Escalate concerns or issues appropriately when resolution is beyond the team’s scope
Assess and manage design uncertainties and risks while ensuring deadlines are met
Prepare and submit weekly status reports and present comprehensive quarterly status briefings to leadership
Conduct formal peer reviews of straightforward engineering designs to support the development of less experienced team members
Provide additional hands-on engineering support during high-demand periods or urgent project needs
Execute daily responsibilities autonomously, with minimal oversight required from senior engineers
Maintain safety as the top priority in all activities and decisions related to the role
Apply electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature
Makes an extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer service
Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides information necessary to meet customer needs
Provides formal peer review of engineering designs or analyses for team members
Mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and equipment architectures used to meet customer requirements
Qualification
Required
Requires 5 years with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or 3 years with a Master's in Electrical Engineering
Prior Experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry
U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance, or higher
Siemens Capital software experience
Jira experience
Teamcenter experience
Understanding and application of wire and component derating analysis
Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4
Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures
Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft
