Responsibilities
Contribute to the conceptual, basic, and detailed design of small gas turbine components, sub-systems, and systems
Oversee the development of complete product definitions of a wide variety of gas turbine components including sumps, shafting, rotors, housings, and more
Conduct advanced rotordynamic analyses of gas turbines in installed and uninstalled conditions
Conduct advanced vibration analyses on systems and components
Provide hands-on support to manufacturing and suppliers: troubleshoot issues, collaborate on problem solving, disposition product deviations, review processes, and implement design improvements
Investigate product issues to identify root causes and define and implement effective corrective actions
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams through precise instructions, specifications, and reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
25+ years of experience with gas turbine design and analysis
Expert in rotordyamics of gas turbines
Expert in whole engine vibration and balancing of rotating gas turbine components
Strong background in sump design, test cells, manufacturing, shafting, and other gas turbine components
Willingness to travel up to 10%
