Responsibilities

Schedules user interviews and engages in quality assurance testing scenarios before new features or fixes are deployed
Hold design working sessions, prototyping, journey-mapping, process-mapping, user interviews and other design-focused sessions to ensure that users and stakeholders have appropriate say and buy-in to any new, proposed process and solutions to technical and programmatic challenges
Lead the design and development of new, or revise existing manuals, guidance, and training materials on Global and related applications for users at HQ and in the field as requested
Schedules and conducts application demonstrations for new users and/or for new application features. This involves coordinating with the Training team and local training officers incorporate the latest training materials of web applications in both their nationwide as well as local training initiatives
Identifies training needs and designs and creates virtual training sessions accordingly. This includes routinely auditing existing training materials (.pdfs, videos and a materials SharePoint site) and making updates as features change
Schedules regular meetings with field offices and stakeholders for product owners to provide feature enhancement updates and troubleshoot existing user concerns
Drafts communications on recent feature enhancements, project rollout progress, and crafts communications blurbs, emails and newsletter materials to regularly update the user base
Monitor needs for relative frequency of issues, recurring challenges, unresolved problems, and is able to provide related documentation, workflows, analyses, and information about the issues that users encounter
Provide trainings as requested related to systems usage, resolving technical issues, user support, or other topics related to the assignments and tasks of the contractor
Regularly craft postings, announcements, Teams messages, and other public announcements about system usage
Perform syntheses, analyses, and consolidate metrics around user support issues
Engage in systematic study of workflow issues and other concerns arising from user challenges
Create dashboards, briefings, one-pagers and other written and visual summaries and analyses of ongoing work
Use your branding and design experience to create responsive web, typography and color theory designs
Provide suggested improvements to the product(s) being supported
Analyze complex project-related problems and creating innovative solutions involving, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components
Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports
Work on complicated problems and providing solutions that are highly creative and ingenious, exhibiting ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
Use your experience with front end development for modern web-based applications (HTML, CSS3, JavaScript)
5 or more years’ experience as a UX or product designer
Extensive experience with user research
Extensive experience with end user training and communication

US Citizenship Required to obtain DHS Public Trust
5 or more years' experience as a UX or product designer
